Sckavone's is the perfect place for a date night or family dinner for those who enjoy nourishing comfort foods in a relaxing environment. What a great idea to open a restaurant in an old school pharmacy. Favorites: their chicken and ribs combo is so good that it's a little hard to choose something else; but over the years I've also loved the Mac and cheese with rib meat, the beet chicken salad with chèvre and fried onions , the french dip sandwich, the smoked salmon appetizer and of course their classic burger and lovely fries. It's also conveniently located right across the street from Village Merchants, which is one of my favorite shops in town. Service is on top of everything you need, prompt and friendly in a laid back welcoming way. Thanks Sckavone's!

This place is underrated. Food is always good and the staff is friendly. It's less expensive than a lot of crowded breakfast places. A very cool neighborhood diner vibe.

Nice people, food good except a little over-salted. Portions are large but not ridiculous. 2 of us had chicken &waffles, the 3rd had chicken fried steak.

We were walking along Division, looking for some boutiques and shopping that were you remembered from a few years back. We were hungry and saw the diner and said why not. It was really delicious. Good comfort food. Friendly service. Love the old soda counter.

Took my Mom to Sckavones for a birthday lunch. After a friendly greeting, we enjoyed delicious lunches including a fresh cobb salad and tasty chicken club. Easy access and quaint atmosphere will definitely bring us back.

Dropped in for Friday evening dinner, 6:15-ish. We were seated immediately, all booths were full but plenty of tables open. Both of us had viewed the online menu so we ordered immediately. Water and tableware came quickly and we sat back to appreciate the ambiance that is Skavone's. I don't use the phrase lightly but this is the second time that I've called a place "quintessential" Portland. This restaurant has been around seemingly forever yet it continues to provide a quality meal at a reasonable price. And, if it's made any changes other than to its menus, they're not noticeable. This night I had the Steelhead with asparagus and polenta. At least that's what the online menu said. That I received Brussels sprouts instead of asparagus was not unexpected considering the asparagus season ended a couple of months ago. The fish was nicely cooked although smothered in caper cream sauce. Polenta was cute little triangles of goodness. So, four stars. Minus one because prices on the online menu need to be updated. Also, maybe put the cream caper sauce on the side? Of course we'll be back.

Used to come here when my friend lived around the corner, but haven't been in a while so while we were nearby and wanted food I thought to come in. Really glad we stopped in because I wanted their smoked salmon benny. My partner got some kind of egg dish, but I think he got it mostly for the gravy, which he very much enjoyed. My BIL got a sandwich that hit the spot and I had some of his fries, which were so tasty! I feel like the service (which was prompt and friendly) as well as the food are still as good as I remembered. Plus I had so much salmon I didn't feel cheated when I gave some to my cats at home later.
